MCP

Connect Cursor, Claude, or any MCP client to your Brekky projects. Agents can read recorded analytics and create projects or apps. They cannot ingest or change events.

What agents can do

  • Read projects, apps, live visitors, stats, sessions, visitors, events, signals, and funnels the token owner can already see in the dashboard.
  • Create a project on the owner account, or add an app (owners and admins).
  • See an app write key only if that user can see it in Settings → Tracking.
Events come from connected SDKs and the ingest endpoint. MCP has no tools to insert, update, or delete events.

Create a token

  1. Open any project dashboard, then Account → MCP.
  2. Name the token (for example Cursor) and create it.
  3. Copy the bmk_ value once. We store only a hash after that.

Tokens inherit your project access. Revoke one on the same page if a client should stop seeing data. Local endpoint: http://localhost:4000/mcp. Production: https://mcp.brekkymetrics.com/mcp.

Cursor

Fastest path: create a token under Account → MCP, then click Add to Cursor on that page. The new token is included. Or paste this into .cursor/mcp.json (project) or your user MCP config and replace bmk_....

mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "brekky": {
      "url": "https://mcp.brekkymetrics.com/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer bmk_..."
      }
    }
  }
}

Add to Cursor

The button above installs the production endpoint. Swap in your real token under Cursor Settings → MCP after, or use the dashboard button so you skip that step.

Claude

Remote MCP config for Claude Desktop or Claude Code:

JSON
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "brekky": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.brekkymetrics.com/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer bmk_..."
      }
    }
  }
}

Auth

Every request sends Authorization: Bearer bmk_.... A missing or revoked token returns 401. There is no cookie session on this endpoint.

Useful first tools

  • whoami and list_projects to see what the token can access.
  • get_overview with a project_id for stats, live visitors, top pages, and referrers.
  • list_sessions, get_session, list_recent_events for recorded traffic.
  • create_project / create_app when you actually need a new project or app. Default range is 7d.
